These 14 Kelowna roads will be resurfaced this summer

Spring is in the air and summer is approaching quickly, which means we’re going to see more road crews out working in the coming months.

The City of Kelowna’s annual road renewal program is about to kick off and this year there will be 14 stretches of road, spanning around 21 kilometres, getting a much-needed facelift.

Around $5 million will be invested in pavement management over the spring and summer, with the work expected to finish up at the end of September.

“This initiative is designed to extend the lifespan of roads, reduce long-term maintenance costs, and provide a smoother, safer journey for motorists and cyclists,” notes a City release. “Asphalt resurfacing is important to repair damage and improve the quality of roadways.”

The City says monitoring and testing helps identify and prioritize sections of Kelowna streets that require improvement.
